Going back to murder school
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc isa visual novel game that traps you inside Hope’s Peak, a school for Japan’s ultimate children. The story has the institution taken over by the twisted teddy-bear, Monokuma, who pits the students against each other in a murderous game.
Originally a PSP game, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc in coming to PC this February.
I hope you are feeling lucky
The students of Hope’s Peak all have an "ultimate" talent, but your character, Makoto, does not. He is part of an experiment to see if a normal kid can be elevated by studying with characters such as the Ultimate Fan Fiction Writer, Ultimate Biker Gang Leader, or Ultimate Detective.
While some argue this makes him the Ultimate Lucky Student, being trapped in Hope’s Peak by the evil robot bear Monokuma suggests that he is anything but.
Makoto's goal is to survive Monokuma’s lethal game with the other 15 students. The rules are simple,kill another student and don’t get caught.
The only catch is that after any murder there is a trial. If the others work out who the killer is then the individual is put to death and the game continues - if they don't everyone else dies.
Objection!
The story has youform bonds with other characters to gain new abilities, discover more about their past, and attempt to solve the various murders.
This all takes place through an interesting mix of first-person wandering around the building, point-and-click investigations, puzzles, and trial scenes.
These trials are the centerpieces that form the breaks between each section of the narrative. Every one plays out through a number of mini-games that have you look past the lies and organize the truth of each murder.
While the story, gameplay, and collection of fantastic characters are known, the PC particulars are not. The Steam page lists Achievements, Cloud Support, and the possibility of Steam Trading Cards – but no word on price or if the game's wonderfully stylized visuals, which started life on handheld, will be upresed.
