Cut It is a physics-based puzzle game, where you have to cut structures, so a white block lands safely on a green platform.
This is an experimental game project, and has 12 levels for you to work out. Cut It starts out simple, and gets more and more challenging, making the final levels very difficult. Every level starts with a static structure, and in in somewhere will be the white cube. Cutting tactically, you can make the structure fall so the cube is directed towards the green base.
Cut It takes some getting used to, but once you get used to the mechanics it is a lot of fun slicing through objects, and getting the block to fall just right.
In terms of presentation, Cut It is quite bare, but that doesn't spoil the gameplay. There a reset button (Space), and Esc quits, but otherwise you just need a mouse. The sound - a piano piece - can't be turned off, unfortunately. Luckily it's not too distracting, but it does mean you can't play Cut It while listening to iTunes.
Cut It is a promising game, and although it's short, with very basic options, it should satisfy your puzzle needs for an afternoon
