Crossword Forge 7.3

Crossword Forge is a program that allow us to easily create word games, which can be used as pastime for our family and friends, but also as educational tools for teachers and educators.

Crossword Forge can generate two types of puzzle games: crossword, and word search. The interface is user-friendly, and makes the creation of word games really easier. What we have to do is type the questions in the clue tab, with their corresponding answers in the next field. We can create as many questions and answers as we need, and also define the puzzle's size, which can be of any dimension. To save some time in the puzzle-creation process, we can import clues and answers from tab-delimited text files. Words can be arranged in many ways; diagonally, vertically, reversed, etc. Once our puzzles are ready, we can host them in a website, print them to distribute at class, or save them as PDF documents. To give them a personal touch, we can use a background image or photograph.

Program's support for special characters makes it possible to create puzzles in a number of languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, or Russian. Crossword Forge offers a demo version to try out as long as we want, with some important limitations though.
