
Copernic Desktop Search – Professional can help you find various types of contents stored on your computer. It works by indexing files, e-mail messages, contacts, and history to provide you with almost instantaneous results. In order not to affect your PC’s performance, it works from the System Tray and does not index any contents unless the computer is idle at the moment.
The program has an intuitive interface. In order to find a file, you can provide keywords or pick one of the categories, from files, e-mails, organizer, contacts, favorites, history, music, picture, and videos. Moreover, the results can be filtered using a series of tabs. This way, you can also refine your searches by providing extra data. This means that by turning to the Pictures tab, you can specify the target picture’s dimensions, creation date and location. Fortunately, it lets you preview the contents of multiple file types. Moreover, some search patterns can be saved for frequent use.
The professional version of this program has the advantage of supporting Organizer, which is not available in the home version. Thus, it allows you to access your scheduled tasks and meetings without difficulty.
All in all, Copernic Desktop Search – Professional is more efficient than the system’s built-in search tool. It works better than Windows libraries. It is a good thing that it can be set as a default search application. However, it has the limitation of not performing real-time searches. Therefore, some contents that have not been indexed yet may not appear in the results.
