Commander4j is a capable inventory program designed for production recording and labeling by using GTIN (EAN-128) barcodes. The application was completely written in Java programming language, gives you access to numerous helpful utilities, and provides you with a simple yet efficient way to administer your production database.
In order to work with this inventory tool you will need to install Java and a database software on your Mac. After you complete the aforementioned steps you can start creating a blank database and provide a user account with the necessary permissions to create tables (the database schema is created automatically by Setup4j app located in the Applications -> Commander4j folder).
The most important screen within this program is the Production Declaration window. There you can print barcode labels and create SSCC's (pallets). Anyway, before completing the aforementioned tasks you need to populate your database with materials, units of measures, process orders, and many other items.
An important advantage of this application is that it allows you to create multiple user accounts for your co-workers or employees and allow them to alter the contents of the database when it's necessary (you can authorize and restrict various database alterations).
As a conclusion, Commander4j proves to be a reliable solution for production recording and labeling. The Mac program is feature-rich, provides you with an intuitive interface, and comes without a price tag.
