Collageshine Pro is an image editing application able to combine custom images in 96 different frame templates, which cover a variety of visual styles and themes. While the resultant images can be attractive at first glance, there are several conspicuous problems with this application:
- The interface is unsophisticated, with inaccurate categorical names, splitting the templates into arbitrary groups, and with no marker of which image slot among multiple is currently selected. While partially the interface is intuitive, icons lack tooltips.
- The templates vary in size without apparent rhyme or reason. Some are of decently high resolutions, big enough to be printed on an A4 sheet of paper without pixelation; others aren't even big enough for a regular photo print. The program gives no hint about the size of each template image other than obvious artifacts if it is aberrant small.
- One cannot save a document again if it was saved earlier, or even if the save dialog was merely opened and then closed. This bug can be avoided by changing the template, but doing so resets the template, defeating the purpose of saving…
My inevitable conclusion is that the only professionals using this "Pro" application should be reviewers like me who tell other professionals to steer clear of it!
