Colasoft MAC Scanner Free is meant to find your IP and MAC addresses. Obviously, there are also other ways to find these types of addresses, not just by using this program, but in those cases some basic knowledge of the network administration is required. This app allows you to find them faster and easier. The program is free, does not require too much space and is simple to use. You also have the possibility to get acquainted with all your subnets.

To use this tool, just select one local subnet and press the 'Start' button. After a few seconds, the page will show you all of the found hosts. The page, which is separated into 5 columns, reveals the list of IP address, MAC address, Host Names, Workgroups, and Manufacturers. The ability to rearrange the information according to the first three above mentioned criteria is also included. The program is easy to use and has a nice interface. Not to mention that you can also export your scanning results into .txt or .csv format files. This way you are offered the possibility to save your results or send them to a printer.

This free version seems to have no restrictions compared to the professional edition. The developers created it for home users. In case you attempt to use it for business, you need to buy a license.
