The Multiplayer Online Battle Arena genre, also known as MOBA, originated as a subgenre of real-time strategy. Most MOBA games operate with two opposing teams, whose goal is to destroy their rival's main structure. A characteristic of the genre is that the player controls a powerful single unit, also known as a 'hero', which is able to collect experience points and level up throughout the game. There are also a number of computer controlled units within the game, however these are generally weaker.
Cloud Pirates invites you to take the controls of a pirate airship, and fly across a variety of fantasy landscapes doing battle with rival commanders. The game features an intuitive control system, and players will need to think tactically to overcome problems such as guns overheating. There are four different game modes, and a huge variety of ships to choose from - each of which has its own unique characteristics. The various classes of ship allow players to deploy a range of different tactics, for example sneaking in with a stealth ship, or deploying a healing vessel to keep a strong fighter in the game.
Cloud Pirates is a fine example of the genre - the appealing graphics, depth of gameplay and vast array of vessels to choose from make it an enjoyable and immersive experience.
