Venture beyond the confines of our home planet in this futuristic iteration of the classic empire-building game. Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth takes you into the great unknown to build your civilisation.
If you're familiar with the Civilization franchise, it would be fair to consider this more of the same with a new setting. You are the leader of a particular civilisation, and through building cities and monuments and armies, you must grow your civilisation to spread across the land. You can trade with other civilisations, or wage war with them, to maintain your dominance. Research technologies to unlock new tools. There are some differences from other games in the franchise, but in general, fans of Civilisation will feel at home here.
Unfortunately, this game feels rushed. Many of the problems that Civilization 5 suffered from, and were subsequently fixed with patches, are back in Beyond Earth. There are graphical issues, the gameplay feels poorly balanced, the in-game information source (Civlopedia) feels lacking. Still, there's plenty to like about this game.
Having to move, our MC finds himself in a new city, reunited with friends and new interesting people he will meet.
