Chord Pickout is a small but useful program that allows you to know the chords played in audio files. The program is really easy to use. You only need to open the desired audio file and wait until the song is loaded and analyzed. The program will automatically show the results in the main window, including the sound spectrum and chords. Under the sound spectrum the program shows a line where you can type in the lyrics. If you play the song, a cursor will indicate the time position.
You can also activate the guitar's chord diagram window - it will display the fingering in order for you to see how the chord is to be played. You can save the transcription file, but it’s important to have the source media file available. The supported media files are: MP3, CD audio files, WMA, WMV ASF, MPEG4 AAC, OOG, and WAVE. The program also includes a transpose feature that allows you to raise or lower the pitch of chords. It is very useful when you want to sing a song but you can't reach the desired tone of the chords, so you can adjust it to the tone that your voice can reach.
