Chinese Flash Cards is a simple but very useful application that will help you practice and learn new words in Chinese. The program comes with a list of words to practice including seasons, animals, days of the week, months, among others. The free version only includes a few lists, but the paid version includes over 115 word files. However, you can also create your own lists of words to test yourself. The program offers four types of recognition exercises which can be done with the included word lists. These are multiple-choice exercises in which you are shown a Chinese symbol, the pinyin translation, or the sound, and you have to select the correct answer.
After each exercise, the program will tell your the number of correct and incorrect answers, and in case you don't know the answer, the program can directly show it for you. When you think you completely know a wordfile, you can simply mark it as completed and it won't appear in the exercises. Unfortunately, you can only practice a single word file and not all the word lists together, which would have been great. The program offers a very simple user interface, but if you need help, you can consult the extensive help file included in the application.
To conclude, if you are looking for a simple application that allows you to practice your Chinese, Chinese Flash Cards may work for you.
