Chessformer is a grid-based platformer game created by indie developer rob1221. This game will have you move chess pieces and capture the opponent’s king. However, unlike the usual chess game, you won’t be getting the full board. Instead, you will have a piece or two, which you can move around the field. The opponent will also only have the king, which will not move, so you don’t have to worry about losing any of your pieces.

What is Chessformer?

Despite having chess to its name, Chessformer does not play like the popular board game. Sure, it uses chess pieces and challenges you to capture the opponent’s king. However, this is as far as the similarities go. Chessformer is, at its core, a puzzle game. It is a brain-teasing game, which will challenge you to think of ways to get to the king.

At every level, you will have a few chess pieces, and each one moves the way they do in a normal game of chess. However, they fall after moving. More, they cannot move again until the fall stops. Using your mouse, you can move them around the board until they can get near the king. Taking the king’s place will render him captured. Only then can you move up to the next puzzle.
