Chao Resort Island is a fan game that is based on the popular games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The action is based on a mini game that was first introduced in Sonic adventure when players were charged with hatching a Chao. This fan game takes the concept a bit further and provides players with plenty of opportunities to raise and interact with their very own cute and cuddly Chao.
One of the cool things about Chao Resort Island is that players have the chance to interact with many of their favour characters from the Sonic sagas. In addition to the blue spiky haired hedgehog himself, Knuckles and Shadow also play starring roles and can even be selected as playable characters. Although the graphics are not quite as sharp as the original games, they are still very detailed and come with plenty of nostalgic touches.
Fans of the Sonic games are likely to be a bit thrown by Chao Resort Island, at least at first. While the storyline and tasks are very different to those in the original games, it is clear that a lot of time and attention to detail has gone into creating this fan game and anyone who is looking for a new way to interact with the world’s most famous hedgehog may want to check it out.
