Building the Great Wall of China is a strategy game developed for various platforms, including Mac. In this game you play as Kong Baotu, a young man that has decided to help protect China from the Nomads in the exchange of marrying the Emperor's daughter.
On your journey, your goal is to build the Great Wall of China that spans numerous miles and protects your homelands. You can choose between two game modes (Normal and Relaxed), enable or disable Interactive Help option (offers you hints during missions), and adjust sound levels according to your needs.
During each level one of your tasks repeats (complete a section of the wall), though, all other assignments change from mission to mission. Once you complete a level, you gain up to 3 stars (depending on the amount of time you spend finishing the mission) and a trophy that adds to your Achievements room. I like the fact that the app automatically saves gameplay progress for any created user profile (you can create multiple player profiles from the main window).
The one thing bothering me about this game is that the options return to their default configurations when relaunching the app. For example, if you played the game in windowed mode, closed the app and reopened it, the main window will be in fullscreen display view (fullscreen mode is the default display mode).
Nevertheless, Building the Great Wall of China is a fun and addictive strategy game that can keep you in front of your Mac for hours. The app brings you nicely-drawn animations, offers plenty of challenging levels, and provides you with various power-ups.
