Boilsoft Video Joiner does exactly what its name suggests: it helps you merge various source clips. The application is so intuitive that I don’t think anyone will have problems to use it. Everything is as simple as picking the source files, arranging them in the desired order and starting to join them. The program allegedly supports multiple video formats. However, in practice, it had difficulties to recognize the format of some MP4 files and it even stopped working. I have to say here that I’d never had any problems with those same files before.
In my opinion, Boilsoft Video Joiner is quite limited in terms of available features. For instance, it doesn’t let you extract a segment from a source video. Yet, there’s one thing that I loved from this tool: it supports two merging modes. In encode mode, the files are re-encoded so they can be joined regardless of their formats. However, this is possible with any other similar tool. It’s the other mode, called direct stream clone, which catches my attention. This one saves a lot of time by allowing almost instant file joining because it doesn’t transcode the sources. Logically, it has the limitation that all the original files should have the same format.
