Bitwig Studio is an advanced music production tool with multiple options. You can use it to create music from scratch using its different virtual instruments, or connect your external keyboard to control the program.
After installing the program, you will see the startup panel which shows a quick start page with options such as New Project or Open File. Then you have three other tabs, namely Settings, Packages, Help, each with its own menus and submenus.
You may want to start by creating a new project. From the startup page, you can choose the New project option, and a panel with several controls will appear. There, you can choose the instruments you want to record. You can transform your computer's keyboard into a piano, harpscord, or any other key instrument. Also, as I've said, you can connect an external keyboard to control the program. You can play a melody using either method, and record it. Then you can record multiple layers and set their tone, effects, volume, and other options to obtain the final result you are looking for.
It needs to be said that this is not a program for beginners or casual users. You need to have at least a basic knowledge about music production. Also, the program is not very intuitive, so you will need to read the manual thoroughly and watch the available tutorial to use the program at its fullest.
You can try the program during 15 days. If you feel that it is what you need and intend to keep using it, you will need to purchase a license, which is not very affordable.
