It is the electronic version of the famous Sacra Biblia Vulgata, a translation of the Scriptures to common Latin commissioned by Pope Damasus I and made mainly by Saint Jerome in the early 5th. century. At that time, this was designated the official version of the Bible by the Roman Catholic Church.
