BetterVolume is an OS X tool that provides more precise control of sound volume. With BetterVolume, users can use the shift key to adjust the volume in quarter-level increments and view the current volume as a number. It works by clicking on the menu bar icon and using the slider, arrows, or shift key to adjust the volume.
