Better Search... Beginning with Mac OS X 10.4, Spotlight took away the ability to search deeply in your hard drive. You could not search packages nor could you search in invisible directories. Better Search attempts to correct that. While it is not as pretty as Spotlight it does allow one to have greater control over a search. But this comes at a cost. Better search does use a high level of cpu time and memory. You can run multiple searches at the same time, search in packages, search visible and invisible directories and search case insensitive or not. Better Search will also allow you to either only search for Directories or files, or both. Keep in mind when you search that Bundles such as Applications, are considered by the system to be directories. This will possibly be accounted for in a future release but for now you must choose to find either files and folder, or folders if you are looking for applications or other bundles.
