Battery Drain is a free Mac OS X 10.4 utility that enables users to charge or drain their batteries to a certain level for long-term storage. Apple recommends storing lithium-ion batteries with a 50% charge, and Battery Drain allows users to set the desired charge amount, then shut down the computer when the battery has reached the set level. This tool is especially helpful for administrators of multiple Mac laptops, such as iBooks and MacBooks.
