Barsoom is a very simple utility that allows managing your menu bar items. The application is extremely unobtrusive as it runs unnoticeably on the menu bar, but, as if this were not enough, it can also be completely hidden. The application can be set to start automatically with your system, which provides the advantage that your configuration is retained after a restart.
By clicking on the app’s icon, you can access a straightforward menu that lets you arrange menu bar icons. In this respect, the simplest way is to drag them to a different location on the bar. Additionally, you can toggle on or off various extra icons, including Bluetooth, battery, keychain, volume and WLAN. Likewise, it is possible to use gaps to separate the icons.
If you consider the description of Barsoom’s features, it seems that the product is an absolutely indispensable addition to your system. However, the truth is that it is not. The reason is that it may be no longer necessary if you use one of macOS latest versions, which already allow managing menu bar icons without the need of a third-party application. This is probably why the product has not been updated for a while.
To conclude, Barsoom may still be useful if you are not using a modern macOS version and would like to control your menu bar icons. In such case, you may want to try the product without feature limitations for some days.
