Barron's Dictionaries is a Mac application that comes in handy if you wish to translate English words to other languages, like French, German, Italian or Spanish. The program is very simple to handle, provides you with an efficient search tool, and offers you a list with all irregular verbs (in English and German).
You can use this tool whenever you wish to make a trip to a foreign country and need to prepare some cards with popular expressions (like Hello, Where can I find X?, etc.). The app also provides you with a list of words that are similar to the one you entered within the search bar in case you misspelled it.
I also like that you can invert translation direction and make full text searches if necessary.
Unfortunately, the application gives you access to a part of a single dictionary: English to French. You need to make in-app purchases in order to unlock the entire word list plus the other three dictionaries (English to German, English to Italian, and English to Spanish).
As a conclusion, I think you can find better and cheaper solutions for translating English words to other languages. You can use other third-party programs that support more languages or Google translate if your Mac is connected to the Internet.
InstantTranslate makes it really easy to translate a selection of text in the application you are working in from one language to another language.
