BackupTrans Android SMS Transfer is an Android backup utility. It can be used to transfer your SMS conversations from your Android device to your Mac, into what is called a local database. Conversations can also be transfered from the database to your Android device.
With your Android device connected to your Mac, the application will display it on the left pane. When you click on the device name, a list of conversations will appear under it. When you click on one of them, the right pane will be populated with your SMS chat history. The conversations are shown in two different views. The one at the top breaks your conversations down into single messages. You can check a box next to the message that you want to transfer or back up. You can of course select multiple messages at once. Below these messages, the conversation will be shown as you see it on your Android device, which makes it easier to read, because messages are shown in full. When you are ready to transfer your messages, you can simply click on one of the transfer buttons at the top of the screen. These let you transfer messages to a local database and to a file.
BackupTrans Android SMS Transfer keeps information about every device that it detects. You can keep this information or delete it from the Preferences window. From there, you can also change the folder where the application stores data.
