Backcountry Ski is a skiing simulation game that comes with a plot twist. Instead of competing against other skiers in a fast paced race down the slopes, players find themselves lost in a snowy wonderland where the main aim of the game is to simply find the way back to the cabin.
As players shoot down the deserted ski slope, they will notice a trail of smoke in the distance. Players of Backcountry Ski need to be able to reach the cabin before their energy runs out, at which point they will have to start the game over again. There is a limited amount of energy that is awarded at the start of the game and this energy quickly runs out. Even more energy is depleted when players crash, which is rather easy to do due to the huge number of trees on the slope.
People who like the idea of having a scenic ski slope all to themselves are likely to have fun playing Backcountry Ski, at least for a while. Although the repetitive nature of the game means that it becomes tedious rather quickly, it may be worth playing for a few minutes.
