Babble is a simple text-to-speech application developed for Mac users. This program features many voice profiles, provides you with an easy-to-use interface, immediately offers you the results you require, and allows you to print the entered text directly from its main window.
All you need to do in order to work with this utility is to enter the text content, select the preferred voice profile, and pre-listen the end result. If you wish, you can print the text content or export the text-to-speech result to an AIFF file.
Nevertheless, the program only provides you with voices that speak only English. On the homepage of this product it says that it offers voice profiles for 22 languages.
Another disadvantage is the fact that it supports only one output format when exporting the text-to-speech result (AIFF). Hence, you cannot save the audio files to popular formats like MP3, WAV, etc.
For a good prank, I'd say it's worth installing this Mac application. But if you're looking for an efficient text-to-speech solution, I'd suggest you to look for other Mac programs.
