AVCWare Video Converter Platinum is the second most complete video converter that AVCWare has to offer. It comes with a variety of added features and great format support. It can open pretty much any popular video format and there are tons of conversion profiles, which are pre-configured conversion settings, for devices like the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, mobile phones, gaming consoles like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PSP and others. The app has a very good-looking graphical user interface that is easy to navigate and also filled with useful features.
To convert a file, you simply have to load it using the "Load file" button, and once you have, you can either pick a conversion format or profile from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen.
The video editor in this application lets you merge videos and clip them (also frequently called trim). The merge feature is a nice addition, but unfortunately, there isn't a cropper and you can't adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation of your videos. This feature is present in most commercial video converters.
I like that whenever you load a file and select a conversion format, next to the video, the estimated output size will be shown. This is such a useful feature that most converters seem to overlook. It helps the user a lot.
