AVCWare Mac iPod Video Converter is a very bad video converter. The website claims that this is a free converter, so I was expecting something that wasn't really powerful, but that worked. Unfortunately, I was wrong. When I tried to convert an MKV file into MPEG-4 for the iPod Touch, a nag screen came up saying that this was a trial, and that I had to register the app to be able to convert the full file. So I clicked on the link on the nag screen and I was taken to the same website, where there isn't a buy link. I thought I might as well continue with my testing, so I clicked on Evaluate, accepting the app's limitations. The status of the file that I added read "Completed" so I went to the folder where the file was saved and I played it, but VLC couldn't open it. When I checked the file sizeб it was 166 bytes. Obviously, the application didn't successfully convert the video. I thought maybe the MKV format wasn't supported, so I tried with an AVI file. I opened the video editor to trim the video, but the application crashed. After a few tries I managed to convert a small AVI file into MP4, but, as you may guess, my experience with this app wasn't something I enjoyed.
