Audio Cutter is intended for extracting fragments from audio clips. Besides, it also allows transcoding to other formats. Luckily, it supports a wide array of audio extensions, including MP3, MP2, WMA, WAV, OGG, AAC, AC3, M4A, MKA, AIFF, APE and FLAC. However, it is a pity that it does not allow extracting audio from video.

The application has an easy-to-use interface, characterized by displaying the waveform and allowing easy playback. This way, users can accurately select the fragment they want to keep from the original recording. The workflow is equally simple; it consists in importing the desired file, picking the interval and saving the trimmed segment in the favorite format. In the case of importing, it is highly convenient that drag-and-drop operations as well as directly importing from iTunes are supported.

Unfortunately, despite its many advantages, the tool is not free from limitations. For instance, it cannot record audio directly from the microphone or the sound card. Likewise, the only effect supported is fading sound in or out. Thus, other convenient effects, like noise removal, are not allowed. Finally, it does not support opening various simultaneous recordings, extracting various segments from the same audio as a single operation, or merging various clips.

All in all, Audio Cutter is an easy-to-use application that surely meets basic needs like extracting an audio fragment from a larger recording and converting files to other sound formats. However, you should keep looking if you need more editing operations, a wider variety of filters and other sound sources.
