AppSnap is an application that allows you to keep your software up to date at all times. When the application is installed, it will scan your hard drive for applications. Then it will make a list of all the applications that are installed. In that list, you will see the core version of every application on your computer. With that information already recorded, AppSnap will go online and verify that you have the latest version of your applications installed. When a new version of one of your applications is released, AppSnap will download the installer and automatically install the application so that you are up to date again. Now, in theory, this sounds amazing, but in practice, things are not as easy as we would want. Windows is not a reliable or stable operational system and installation processes don't always work right. I tried installing a new version of Microsoft Live Messenger using AppSnap and the application crashed. Now, the fact that the application warns me that there is a new version is great. And I would really download an application that would do just that. I am sure that AppSnap will do its job right more times than not. AppFresh, a similar application for Mac, does just that, and it works great. Maybe AppSnap is also up to the task.
