There is no discussion on the importance of keeping at least an extra copy of all our most sensitive personal or business-related data. Performing periodical backups of our files and folders will make us feel more secure in case of system crashes or human errors. That is why tools like AOMEI Backupper Standard exist – it offers you a free solution to keep all your data synced and safe on an external device in an intuitive and simple way.

This Standard version is free to use, and while it lacks the wide range of useful tools and functions available in the Professional, Workstation, Technician, Server, or Technician Plus paid versions, it does cover most (if not all) of the backup and restore functionality that home users need to keep their data safe and their minds at ease. Following a current and nearly ubiquitous advertising tendency in the software business, you’ll find utilities and options in the program’s interface that are not available for users of the Standard free version. Some are clearly labeled as “Pro” (i.e., most syncing options) or “Tech” (Create Portable Version), while others refer to external standalone solutions (such as AOMEI OneKey Recovery).

However, as mentioned, all the other functions and features that users of this free version can effectively use are still highly useful and worth downloading and installing this tool, as they will cover most of the backup needs of any home user. When it comes to backing up your data, you can choose to save copies of specific files and folders, the entire system, a whole disk, or a partition within a disk. This backup can be automatic, incremental, or sector-by-sector, while differential backups require to purchase a license. Besides, you can back up your data to any external device and even to a cloud drive.

Syncing is only available in the Basic mode, which means that you can manually or automatically sync files between directories, while the available Restore options will let you bring back your data regardless of the backup type (file, system, disk, or partition). Finally, you can clone entire disks or specific partitions, and make use of some of the tools available in the toolbox provided, such as Comment backup, and Compress and Check backup image.

Clearly AOMEI Backupper Standard is a powerful and – above all – intuitive and effective solution to keep all our most important data safe and away from the threat of a permanent data loss. An excellent choice for those in need of a basic backup and restore solution, free from the stress of dealing with more sophisticated tools.
