AMR Player is a program capable of playing and converting AMR files. "AMR" is an acronym that stands for Adaptive Multi-Rate. It´s an audio data compression scheme optimized for speech coding, the standard used in mobile devices and VoIP applications. AMR Player allows you to play AMR audio files on your PC. It also allows to convert files of other common multimedia file formats, such as MP3 or WAV, to AMR format, or output AMR audio files to MP3/WAV audio format.
The main advantage of converting MP3 or WAV files to AMR is that this format creates very small files. An MP3 occupying 6286 Kb. will be reduced to just 280.4 Kb. The conversion carries a great loss of quality. However, as this format is intended to be used just for voice recordings, this is not very important. But you shouldn´t use AMR Player to convert music files, since the final result will be disappointing. It´s very easy to use AMR Player. You will just need to choose which kind of conversion you want to perform, and then choose the file to convert, and the path and name of the destination file. You can later play the resulting AMR files.
