Aiseesoft MXF Converter for Mac is a video conversion utility that can be used to convert MXF recordings into a variety of formats. MXF files are often produced by camcorders but they are used by other devices as well. This video converter comes with a long list of conversion profiles, which are pre-configured conversion settings. Most of these profiles are for specific multimedia playback devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Nokia, Android and BlackBerry phones, but there are quite a few of them that can be useful for users who want to edit MXF recordings on applications like Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express or iMovie. These use the Apple ProRes, DVCPRO, HDV, Avid DNxHD, XDCAM, and Apple InterMediate codecs.
Other than the fact that the number of profiles included in this app is greater than those of similar video converters, there is only one feature that sets this one apart from other Aiseesoft converters I have recently tried. And that is 3D conversion support. From one of the categories, within the format selection-drop down format, you can choose among one of the 3D profiles and convert your 2D videos into 3D clips. There are different ways in which the image can be converted into 3D. For example, you can choose a side-by-side 3D video or an anaglyph video.
In short, this video converter has excellent input and output format support. It has support for 3D conversion and a very nice graphical user interface. It is missing some features, like all the other Aiseesoft converters I have used before, but that doesn't make it a bad converter.
