Aiseesoft DVD to iPod Suite for Mac is a very complete conversion solution. It consists of both a video converter and a DVD ripper. You can use these tools to convert your video files and DVD movies to files that you can play on your iPod. Some of the supported output formats are H.264, MPEG-4, MOV, M4V, WebM, and WMV.
When you run this application, you will see a launcher, from where you can access the video converter and the DVD ripper. These are two separate applications. And I don't think that you can run them at the same time. Both apps share the same design, which is simple and good-looking. Both the ripper and converter have a variety of conversion profiles for the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV. They also have a video editor that you can use to trim and crop videos or DVD titles and to adjust some of their properties, such as brightness, contrast and saturation.
In my testing, I converted an MKV file to the iPod Touch H.264 profile and I ripped a DVD title using the same conversion profile. Both tasks completed without any problems and the resulting files looked good.
In conclusion, if you want to get a commercial DVD ripper and video converter, Aiseesoft's iPod suite works well and it isn't expensive.
