Capture media content streamed from your iOS device via AirPlay. Connect the compatible items to a Mac and automatically detect the streaming source, select one of the available capture options, etc. Record and process video clips and standard and high definitions.
AirServer is a very interesting app that makes use of the AirPlay technology. AirPlay lets you stream content from your supported iOS devices to the AppleTV. The idea behind it is that you no longer need to stop playing something on your iPad for example, and launch it on your AppleTV and find where you finished playing. Instead, you can access AirPlay on your iPad and the AppleTV will immediately pick up the movie where the iPad left it off. The only problem is that you couldn't use the feature with anything other than an AppleTV. AirServer fixes that problem. It installs software on your Mac, which essentially turns it into an AppleTV. When you access AirPlay on your iPad, you will see the name of your Mac available. If you tap on it, video will start playing on your Mac. This is great if you have a Mac hooked up to a big TV.
AirServer not only works with video, it can also stream photos, audio, YouTube videos, and it works with other AirPlay enabled apps.
Unfortunately, there isn't a trial for this app that you can just download and play. The app costs 4.99 for the iOS device and 4.99 for your Mac. There are some videos on the website that show how the app works.
I purchased this some time ago, and I haven't had any problems with it.
