Airplane Setting is an app that brings Airplane mode to the Mac. Airplane mode is a feature in most cell phones, smart phones and other electronic devices that disables all the signal transmission capabilities of the device when activated. It is called Airplane mode because it was designed so that the device in question could still be used in commercial airplanes that require devices to be turned off during flight. Airplane Setting makes that mode available on the Mac. The app will run on the Menubar. A small icon in the form of a plane will be displayed. If you click on it, a menu will appear. From this menu, you can activate Airplane Mode or go to the Preferences, where you can customize what happens when the Airplane mode is activated. The three things that this app can do when the mode is activated are: disable wireless, disable bluetooth, and adjust the brightness of your display. These measures will also reduce the power consumption of your Mac, thus giving you extra time on your battery.
