AirPhones is an interesting app that lets you stream music from your Mac. It allows you to play the songs that you have on your iTunes playlist on iOS devices. AirPhones is made up of two different apps. One gets installed on the iOS device and the other on your Mac. The app that gets installed on your Mac simply works as a driver that redirects audio playback from your Mac's speakers to your iPhone, for example.
I tested this app with my Macbook Pro and my iPhone. I downloaded and installed both apps and the Mac app told me that the iPhone wanted to connect to it. I authorized this and after both devices said ready, I started playing music on iTunes. Instead of using my Mac's speakers, the audio was played on my iPhone's speakers. Of course, you can connect headphones to it if you want and listen that way. The quality will be better too. I read that many users were complaining about audio playing slowly and excessive cracking sounds. I didn't experience any of those.
All in all, AirPhones lets you play any audio from your Mac on your iPhone or other iOS device. It has worked well for me, but sadly, you can't test this without buying the app.
