AeroMaxxed is a lightweight application developed by Dead’Soul, available to download at the MysterCrowley.com web site. This tool works as a resident application showing an icon at your system tray from which you control the whole program. In fact, there’s nothing more than that, which gives you an idea of the simplicity involved.
The only ability of AeroMaxxed is to preserve the classic “glass” effect of Windows Vista when a window is maximized. Even when this glass effect is one of the most wanted visual characteristic of Windows Vista, it disappears if a window is maximized. A bug of the operating system we may say. AeroMaxxed solves this issue in an indirect way: it changes the behavior of the windows in such a way that they won’t actually maximize anymore, instead they will be resized. So, in fact, it doesn’t correct the bug its effects.
You can enable and disable the application by double-clicking on the AeroMaxxed icon, or selecting the option in the pop up menu which appears when you right-click over it. Besides, you can switch between two operation modes: Auto, and Manual. AeroMaxxed can be configured to run at Windows start up, which combined with the Auto operation mode will make possible that you don’t even notice the application, just the results.
