Adobe Media Encoder CC is a free software program that allows users to process, encode and transform their media files into their preferred format. It also lets users make proxies and change the format of an existing file.
The program comes wrapped in a modern interface, with a dark theme, well-delimited page sections, and nicely-crafted menus. It misses more selection themes and the menu navigation requires a deep learning curve.
With this utility, users can import HEIF files from iOS devices on Windows and macOS. It also allows users to set the bit rate encoding or the keyframe distance, but these set-ups reduce the overall encoding time.
The application offers support for importing ProRes HDR footage, as well as Rec2020 and PQ/HLG color information. More, users are able to decode Canon Cinema RAW Light faster, manage video settings like frame rate, field order, aspect, TV standard or resolution.
In conclusion, Adobe Media Encoder CC has evolved over the years and now provides users well-optimized solutions to their needs. The program integrates new technologies and the video outcome is top quality, but the encoding process could be faster and more fluid.
