Even though Contacts, Mac's default address book app, comes with an integrated duplicate finder there's still a chance the app could fail to locate all contact copies (it comes with a small amount of search filters). For this reason, programs like AddressBook Cleaner were developed.
Every time you launch this Mac utility it displays its main window plus a screen where you can configure the scan settings according to your needs. There you can select the proper search filters, like first and last name, mobile number, title, email, etc.
The app takes a very small amount of time to scan your address book and displays the results on its main screen. I like the fact that it organizes the results list accordingly (similar contacts in line) and shows you which of the contacts should be deleted and which to keep in your address book records.
Another good aspect is that it offers you an option to back up the contacts within your address book app in case you delete the wrong entry by accident.
With that being said, AddressBook Cleaner proves to be a reliable solution when it comes to finding and removing duplicated contacts from your address book app. The program is simple to handle, immediately offers you the results you require, and comes with a fair price.
