A-PDF Text Extractor is an extremely easy-to-use application which aims to extract text from Adobe PDF files. Once the process is over, the result can be used for further editing.

The utility comes with a lean and intuitive interface. There are no complex settings or complicated tasks to perform; you just select the file intended for text extraction and press the proper button to execute the chosen activity. You can enable some settings before you start extracting the text. Thus, you have the possibility to set the page range and the type of extraction (PDF Order, With Position, and Smart Rearrange). The extracted text will be displayed on a Notepad document. Since the .txt format displays the written content continuously, without dissociating it into pages, you can make a trick and keep a sort of page separation; namely, you can configure some information to appear at the header or the footer area of every page, so that you could still see the division of the source file into pages.

There is nothing much to say about this tool. It doesn't come with complex settings and the text extracting procedure consists in respecting two steps only. However, the program has major limitations. For instance, you can't use it with encrypted PDF documents, where text selecting is prohibited. What's more, there are chances you encounter errors, when the source files include pictures along with the text you intend to extract.
