4Videosoft M2TS Converter for Mac is a commercial video converter. It can be used to convert M2TS, MTS, and TS videos to other video formats. M2TS and MTS are formats used by some high definition, digital camcorders. When you download your recordings to your Mac, you will be able to play them using VLC or any other multi-format player. But if you want to put those files on your Apple devices, or other portable multimedia playback devices, you will have to convert them. This converter lets you convert those files to a variety of other formats. Most of the modern formats are supported. The app also comes with tons of conversion profiles, which are optimized conversion settings for specific devices. There are profiles for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, etc.

Like many other 4Videosoft converters I have tried, this one doesn't limit the formats that you can open with it. So, it is basically a general-purpose converter with support for M2TS files. What this means is that if you have another converter by 4Videosoft, you might want to see if it can open M2TS files before purchasing this one.
