4Videosoft iPhone Video Converter for Mac is a video conversion tool. It has very good input format support and the ability to convert your files to formats that can be played on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Basically, the app decodes your video files and then it encodes them using H.264 or MPEG-4, two formats that play great on iOS devices. There are conversion profiles for the iPhone 3Gs, 4, and 4s, and for several models of the iPod and iPad lineup. You can also use this utility to convert any supported video file to other formats, including MOV, M4V, WMV, WebM and AVI.
The graphical user interface looks good and everything is where you would expect to be. The format selection drop-down menu houses all the conversion profiles. You can also customize the profiles by clicking on the "Settings" button, next to the menu.
There is a video editor that you can use to adjust the brightness, contrast and saturation of your videos and to trim or crop them. There is also support for watermarks.
I have already reviewed an app by 4Videosoft that I found to be nearly identical to this one, but its name is 4Videosoft iPhone 4 Video Converter for Mac. The iPhone 4 app is more expensive, but it has the same functionality as this one. They both share conversion profiles for iPods, iPhones and iPads and the same graphical user interface. So, even if you have an iPhone 4, you would be saving a few dollars buying this app instead of the iPhone 4 version.
