4Media DVD to iPad Converter is a DVD ripper that you can use to convert your DVD movies so that you can play the on your iPad or any other device that supports the H.264, MPEG-4 or MOV video files. The app can also convert your DVDs to audio files, and this comes in handy when you want to rip a movie soundtrack or a concert DVD. The supported formats for audio are MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC and AIFF. There are a few different profiles available. The newest version of the iPad, the iPad Mini, has a conversion profile as well. These profiles are pre-configured conversion settings, but you are able to change individual conversion settings from the pane on the right part of the screen. From there, you can change the resolution, and video and audio quality. Unfortunately, the application doesn't come with a video editor. This is a feature that most DVD rippers have and quite a useful one.
Using the application is quite easy, as you would expect from a 4Media product. After loading your movie from a DVD disc or a folder on your Mac, you simply can select an output format for each one of the DVD titles and start the conversion process. You can even convert different titles to different formats at the same time.
I think this is a nice DVD ripper, but for the same price, you can get more complete tools, with better format support, and more extra features, like a video editor, and a longer list of conversion profiles.
