3herosoft iPhone SMS to Computer Transfer lets you backup your SMSs to your Mac. But that is not the only thing that it lets you do. With it, you can also back up your music, movies and ringtones and even put content on your iPhone, although this last feature didn't work pretty well.
The first thing that you will see when you launch this app is a summary of your connected device. In my case, I used an iPhone, but an iPod Touch may also work. The summary displays the name, model, serial number and space used and free. On the right, you see a list of things that you can access and backup. There is music, movies, and, of course, your SMSs. In the case of the SMS, the app detected the SMSs just fine, and I could read the last message of each conversation, but not the entire conversation. Also, the names of my contacts were not shown. All I could see were the phone numbers, and who remembers a phone number these days?
I was able to save music from my iPhone to my Mac without any problems, but when I tried to put a song on the iPhone, my Mac went to sleep and I had to wait a few seconds to re-gain control of it. The files never showed up on my iPhone. This happened every time I tried this.
In conclusion, 3herosoft iPhone SMS to Computer Transfer seems to work well, despite some problems. I liked that the app detected my phone even when iTunes didn't.
