As you know, AppleTV and other devices by Apple heavily restrict video and audio formats that they can play. So, it is often the case that you need a video converter to convert your unsupported video files to the formats that are supported. This shareware video converter lets you do just that.

3herosoft AppleTV Video Converter can convert both audio and video files. It can also convert your video files into audio files if you want. The supported output formats are: H.264, MPEG-4, AAC, MP3, MOV, and M4A. There are conversion profiles for devices like iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch and, of course, AppleTV.

In my testing, I converted both MKV and DivX files into H.264 for AppleTV. I used the 720p profile since the files were HD. I used the built-in trimmer to cut the video into a 1-minute clip. The conversion process took a little over 2 minutes for each file, which wasn't fast. The resulting files looked good, though.
